Here’s the lowdown – if you had loved Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare, you are gonna love this too. The gameplay is similar, it offers you the same multiplayer modes, and its guaranteed to throw you right into the action fast and furious. That said, the only pity could probably be the fact that it was everything that we had expected it to be, and nothing new or extraordinary.
If you are an avid fan of Modern Warfare, you definitely would have realised that World At War's setting is completely different from before. The campaigns where you showdown with those Japanese are extremely engaging as enemy troops rush out from trenches, concealed holes, and attempt to slay you. New weapons added to this game include bayonets and flamethrowers, and they make for more intense close-quarters combat.
Another visual feature of this game is the two-player split screen and four-player united campaigns that help to prolong the combat experience. If you find yourself trapped in a house besieged with undead Nazis, the new multi-player mode can certainly help to add longevity to your experience as well.
To sum it up, besides those aesthetic upgrades, we find that World At War is a case of ordering what you want, and getting it - no surprises, that is. Well, that isn't really a bad thing, considering that Call of Duty has been one of the most realistic and intense wartime shooting games ever since it was introduced.
